Walk 1 - Breacon Beacons
From carpark walk to lower resevoir. Turn West up path to ridge between 642 peak and cairn. Follow edge of "Graig Fan Ddu" North to Corn Du (873) and across saddle to Pen Y Fan (886). Cross second saddle to Cribyn (795). Down to saddle point (599). Follow Roman road back to Resevoirs and the Carpark.

Walk 2 - Breacon Beacons
Day 1 From forest carpark climb North up Craig y Fan Ddu (683). Follow plateau edge North to saddle point (754) before turning west to follow edge to Fan y Big (719). Cross saddle to Cribyn (795). Cross saddle to Pen y Fan (886) and Corn Du (873). Drop off North West side and decend via black path to Storey Arms car park (439). Follow path (not marked on map) up Fan Fawr (734). Camped South of Trig Point.
Day 2 Awoken by squaddies mistaking our tent for their check point. Back down to Storey Arms car park (439). Down road to main visitor car park. Back up to Corn Du (873), across to Pen y Fan (886) and back up Cribyn (795). Down Roman road to tree line. Follow path around edge of Taf Fechan Forest back to road. Follow road back to carpark.

Walk 3 - Breacon Beacons
From car park climb up to Pen y Fan (886). Head South East down and then back up to Crybin (795). Descend to the North East down Bryn Teg until you reach the road. Head down the road until you reach the bridge. Use the Public Footpath to pass Plas-y-gaer farm and reach the road, which you follow back to the car park.

Walk 4 - Black Mountains
From Car park head South up ridge line. Turn North East to Twyn Talycefn (702). Follow ridge North East before taking right hand fork North to Rhiw y Fan. Follow edge up to Lord Hereford's Knob (Twmpa) (690). Follow path down to the road and car park (542) before climbing again to Hay Bluff trig point (677). Follow line of Offa's Dyke long distance path South East along ridge line to fork in path beyond flat peak (637). Descend back to car park.


Walk 5 - Black Mountains
Day 1 From Llanbedr cross river and climb path to Hen Bant. Follow tree line path up to Crug Mawr trig point (550). Follow Western edge of trees to Pen Twyn Mawr (658), and on to Pen y Gadair Fawr (800). Finally camped on the North Western side of Waun Fach (811). The peak was very wet and boggy.
Day 2 Started with short walk to Pen Trumau (707). Followed ridge line South to Pen Twyn Glas (645). Fork right up to Pen Allt-mawr (719) and along ridge to Pen Cerrig-calch (701). Down slope to left hand side of Table Mountain (451) before dropping down to the road. It is only a short walk back to Llanbedr and the car.


Walk 6 - Dartmoor
From Plume of Feathers Public House in Princetown follow footpath South past South Hessary Tor and turn Right at the cross roads. Follow the Leat (man made stream) East on the 490m contour and cross the aqueduct. Head North West across the road to Leeden Tor (389). Head North and follow the disused railway and paths to the quarries. Head North up the unmade road until you reach the B3357. Head West along the road before heading North at the car park until you reach Great Mis Tor (539). Head back along the footpath until you line up with the fence line and then head East along the fence until you reach the unmade road. Head down to the Coswic river to the Beardown Farm. Head West, back up the B3357, until you reach the footpath on the left. Cross the fields until you reach the B3212. Follow the road back to Princetown.

Walk 7 - Lake District
Starting a the Wasdale Head car park head South and then East to the bridge over Lingmell Beck. Head up and South until you join the path at Lingmell Gill. Follow the stream up until the path forks. Take the right hand fork and head up until you reach a small scree slope. At the top follow the cairns North East over the rock strewn peak to the summit of Scafell Pike (977). Welcome to the Highest Point in England. Head back via the more gentle North Western path which can be tricky to spot amongs all the rocks. Follow the path around to the West until you join back onto the path you came up. Retire to the Wasdale Head Inn for a well earned pint or two.

Walk 8 - Lake District
Starting from the campsite in Glenridding, follow the small stream South West up to the peak (718) on Birkhouse Moor. Follow the ridge line South West over the saddle and onto the start of Striding Edge. The narrow path ends with a scramble up the side of Helvellyn (950). Continue past the Trig point in a Northerly direction looking out for the path down to Swirral Edge (not easy to find in the mist!). Follow the path down to the mouth of Red Tarn before following Red Tarn Beck down to the disused mine. Keep to the South bank and follow the path back to Gillside and the campsite.

Walk 9 - Snowdonia
Camped in Nant Peris. Opposite is The Vaynol Arms, a good public house .
Began walk from car park in Pen-y-Pass at the head of the Pass of Llanberis. Head West along the most Northerly of the 3 paths until you cross a stile where the path up Crib Goch begins. Follow the Pyg Track up and along side Llyn Llydaw lake. Continue around Glastyn lake. At this point the path becomes less distinct and begins to climb steeply over rock strewn gullies. The path becomes better defined as you reach the zig-zags. When you reach the ridge line turn South and follow the main path & railway up to the summit of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) (1085). Welcome to the Highest Point in Wales. Begin the descent by continuing South looking for the path off to the left which cuts across a scree slope. Follow the Ridge line South East and up to Y Lliwedd (898). Continue on the path down to the Lake mouth. Take the main path past Llyn Teyrn back to the car park.

Walk 10 - Lake District
Day 1 Starting at the Wasdale Head car park head North East up Lingmell Beck. Keep right at the fork in the path. Keep left at the second fork as you begin the steep ascent to Sty Head. Turn North West and ascend Great Gable (899). Descend to the saddle point before climbing agin to the top of Kirk Fell (802). Descend again to Black Sail Pass where we camped.
Day 2 Continued West along ridge to Looking Stead (627), and on up to Pillar (892), we missed the turn to Pillar Rock in the mist! South West to Wind Gap Saddle and on up. Fork Left to miss peak and head South East to Red Pike (821). Descend to Dore Head. Decide against using Dore Head Scree as we're laden with camping equipment! Head down Western side of Over Beck to river crossing and follow path back to the road. Follow road back to the pub.

Walk 11 - Lake District
From campsite in Buttermere follow unmade road South to Buttermere lake. Follow the lakeside path to Peggy's Bridge. Head toward the road at Gatesgarth before going South East up Warnscale Bottom. Keep left at the fork and cross the stream before heading South onto the Plateau with Blackbeck Tarn. Head up to Hay Stacks (597), down to Scarth Gap Pass before climbing Seat (561), High Crag (744) and then High Stile (806) before descending to Red Pike (755) at which point we left the ridge and headed North East down to Bleaberry Tarn and back down to the lake and the campsite.

Walk 12 - Scottish Highlands
From the Glen Nevis Campsite head up the road to the footbridge, then head up the slope until you join the main path from the visitor center. Continue up to the Plateau at Lochan Meall an t-Suidhe. Follow the path round to the South to the start of the zig zags. 4 big zig-zags climb 400m up steep loose pebbly path until you reach the rock strewn peak. A further 1km walk climbing another 150m takes you to the peak of Ben Nevis (1344). Welcome to the Highest point in Scotland. Return by the same path.

Walk 13 - Scottish Highlands
From the car park at Achriabhach Head South East and up the valley to the ridge. Head East, bypassing the peak at Sgorr an lubhair by crossing the Southern face to the saddle point. We then climbed Am Bodach (1032) for lunch before returning to the saddle point and crossing the northern face back to the ridge line. Follow the ridge up Stob Coire a'Chairn (981), An Garbhanach (975) and An Gearanach (982). Descend back to Glen Nevis via a massive series of zig zags. Cross the river via the cable bridge (or use stepping stones). Return to the road and car park via the picturesque gorge.


Walk 14 - Scottish Highlands
Starting from the layby in Glen Coe follow the path South along the River Coupall untill you reach the point where the stream from the low point in the ridge on your right meets the river. Head up the path alongside the stream to the ridge line. Head North East up to Stob Coire Raineach (925). Head back down to the saddle and then up along the ridge to Stob Dubh (958). Back to the saddle point, back down the stream. back up the valley to the Car Park.

Walk 15 - Snowdonia
Began walk from car park in Pen-y-Pass at the head of the Pass of Llanberis. Head West along the most Northerly of the 3 paths until you cross a stile where the path up Crib Goch (923) begins. When you reach the ridge line stay on the top. It is dangerous up here if you are not prepared. Follow the ridge to trig point at Garnedd Ugain (1065) then down to the main path & railway up to the summit of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) (1085). Begin the descent by continuing South looking for the path off to the left, marked by a big upright stone, which cuts across a scree slope. Follow the Ridge line South East and up to Y Lliwedd (898). Continue on the path down to the Lake mouth. Take the main path past Llyn Teyrn back to the car park.


Walk 16 - Snowdonia
Began walk from lay-by on A5 on the shores of Lake Ogwen. Rapid ascent up and slightly to the East of the ridge line to the top of Tryfan (915). Down to the saddle before a tricky ascent of Bristly Ridge to the summit of Glyder Fâch (994). Follow the ridge left around the craggy peak before forking right to the top of Y Gribin ridge. Descend to the lake Llyn Bochlwyd and then to the main carpark.


Walk 17 - Ben Nevis
Staring from a layby on the A82 Walk along the road to the Golf Course, under the railway line and along the track to the left across the course to the tree line. Cross the style and head up through the woods until you reach the larger gravel track. Continue to follow the path alongside the Allt a' Mhuilinn to the 350m point. Head up towards Carn Beag Dearg. We eventually found a track which bypassed the first peak and arrived on the ridge below Carn Dearg Meadhonach (1179). Continue along the ridge up to Carn Mór Dearg (1220). Down and around the arrete to the bottom of the rocky slope below the summit. Up the slope to the "peak" of Ben Nevis (1344). Down the main track to the switchback above Lochan Meall an t-Suidhe. Pass the lake and head North away from the path down a boggy slope back towards Allt A' Mhuilinn. Return to the car via the route up.

Walk 18 - Glen Coe
Starting from the lay-by on the A82 head down into the valley and across the footbridge. Head up the valley of the Coire nan Lochan. From the plateau by the tarns, head to the ridge of Gearr Aonach. Continue up the ridge to Stob Coire nan Lochan (1115). Drop down South West to the saddle point before heading South East down the scree slope into Coire Gabhail (the Hidden Valley). Follow the stream to the main path. Continue down to the bolder strewn woods. Cross the stream (barefoot!) and descend to the footbridge before returning to the car park.

Walk 19 - Glen Coe
Starting from tha lay-by on the A82 walk along the road util you reach another lay-by near Allt-na-reigh. Follow the path up the stream to the ridge. Up to Am Bodach (943). A tricky descent begins one of the longest and most exposed ridge walks in Britain - Aonach Eagach (Notched Ridge). Along to Meall Dearg (953) before a long craggy section to Stob Coire Leith. Final section up to Sgorr nam Fiannaidh (967) for a late lunch before heading due South down the scree slope back to the car.
